Our Staff

Our preschool program is licensed with Alberta Family and Social Services.

Each staff member has passed a criminal record check and has First Aid Training.  We are a member of the Southern Alberta Preschool Teachers Association and the Lutheran Teachers Association of Canada.  To enable our ratio to stay at 1:6, we have a teaching assistant as well as a volunteer in our classroom.

Betty Ann Chandler, our principal/teacher, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in School libraries as well as an Early Childhood Development Supervisor Certificate.  Betty Ann was runner-up in 2009 for the Excellence in Lutheran Education Award.  She is currently serving as the preschool representative on the Lutheran Teacher Association executive board.  Betty Ann is passionate about respecting the learner.  She enjoys incorporating quality children’s literature and music in various ways to enrich the classroom.  She also believes that learning can be fun.  Betty Ann is married and has two adult children.  She has taught Sunday School for twenty-five years, and in our preschool since 2003.

Amy Chandler is our teaching assistant.  Amy has an MA with Merit in Medieval Studies from the University of Nottingham, and an Early Childhood Assistant certificate.  She also has experience supporting individual children with delays in a classroom setting.  Amy has worked in our preschool since early 2013.  She has two published books, including a book of devotions for teens & adults titled Into the World: 62 Devotions to Edify and Inspire.

More information on this devotional can be found at Chandler’s Author Website.
